To commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence and celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a number of events are going to be organized by the Border Security Force such as Band Display, Motor Cycle Rally, Photo Exhibitions, Weapon Display, Cultural programme, Run up to Teacher’s Day and Cycle Rally to inculcate fervour of National Integration & Patriotism. 


 As part of the calendar of events, “BSF Cycle Rally” w.e.f. 01 Nov 2022 to 12 Dec 2022 to mark the 75th Anniversary of Independence of India under the aegis of Sh Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, IPS of Head Quarter Special Director General (Eastern Command). This Cycle Rally was flagged off from ICP Akhura, Agartala, Tripura of 120 Battalion BSF on 01 Nov 2022 and will terminate at Tagorevilla, Kolkata of 118 Battalion BSF on 12 Dec 2022. This cycle rally will go along the border of Tripura, Mizoram & Chhahar, Meghalaya, Guwahati, North Bengal and South Bengal. This Cycle Rally comprising of 18 Cyclists @ 3 cyclists from each BSF Frontier of Eastern Command. Sh Vikash Kundu, Asstt Comdt of 119 Battalion BSF is deputed for Contingent Commander. 


 Further, on 02 Dec 2022 at about 0905 hrs, Sh S K Mishra, Commandant of 164 Battalion BSF flagged off the Cycle Rally from BOP Chhatrahati of 164 Battalion BSF for their onwards journey towards BOP Kutadah of 159 Battalion BSF of South Bengal Frontier and crossed over the area of North Bengal Frontier. BSF Officials, local dignitaries and youths were present during the ceremony to promote National integration & Patriotism.


 This Cycle Rally covered 764.6 km and travelled last 10 days along the road as well as border road in the area of North Bengal Frontier under the supervision of Sh Ajai Singh, Inspector General of BSF North Bengal Frontier. The objective of Cycle Rallty is to promote awareness on National Integration and spread message of Partriotism & Fraternity among all Indians. The Cyclists are going to interact with school children, NCC volunteers & youths in several cities en-route. This Cycle Rally aims to attract youth to join the elite force i.e. BSF.
