On 08 December 2022, the closing ceremony of the Inter-Frontier Kabaddi Sports Competition was organized under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Ajai Singh, Inspector General at Border Security Force, Subsidiary Training Center, Baikunthpur, Siliguri.
As it is well known that since 1965, the Border Security Force has been vigilantly protecting the borders of India as well as performing various other duties like Counter Insurgency operations, Internal Security duties, Anti-Naxal Operations etc. in various parts of the country. Apart from Operations, the personnel of the force are touching new heights in the field of sports also. Many personnel of the force have been national and international level sports persons and have brought laurels at national and international level for the country.
The Inter Frontier Kabaddi Sports Competition was organized from 05 to 08 December 2022, in which teams from total 11 Frontier Headquarters participated in this tournament. League matches were organized on 05 and 06 December and 4 quarter final matches and 02 semi-final matches were held on 07 December. The first semi-final match was played between Rajasthan Frontier and South Bengal Frontier in which South Bengal Frontier won by 40-26 points. The second semi-final match was played between the teams of Jammu Frontier and North Bengal Frontier, in which Jammu Frontier won by 36-33 points.
Earlier, the Inter Frontier Kabaddi Sports Competition was organized in 2019-2020 at Khadka Camp, Punjab, in which the team of Gujarat Frontier was the winner and the team of Punjab Frontier was the runner-up.
On December 08, 2022, at 1030 hrs, the final match was played between the teams of Jammu Frontier and South Bengal Frontier, in which the Jammu Frontier team won by 33-18 points. Sh. Ajai Singh, Inspector General, Subsidiary Training Center, Baikunthpur, honoured the players of the winner and runner-up team by distributing trophies and medals and also honoured the match referee and the members of the organizing committee. On this occasion Sh. C. P. Saxena, Deputy Inspector General /P.S.O. Sh. M. P. Singh, Deputy Inspector General (Ops), Sh. Raman Kumar Srivastava, Commandant (Training and Chief Instructor), Subsidiary Training Center, Baikunthpur, all Officers, subordinate officers, other Ranks and players and coaches of all the teams were present during the closing ceremony.
