Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 29 Nov 2022, acting on tip off, troops of BOP Govindpur of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian National namely Chhotan Sarkar S/O Uttam Sarkar Vill-Bola Para (Panjul), PS–Hili, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur (West Bengal) and recovered 2690 Nos of Yaba Tablets which was hiding clandestinely in his house for smuggling purpose from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Indian National with seized items were handed over to PS Hili.
In addition to above, from 28 & 30 Nov 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 11 Cattle, 289 Bottles of Phensedyl, 2690 Nos of Yaba Tablets and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.15,38,066/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
