On 21 Nov 2022, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Mahadev of 15 Battalion BSF under Siliguri Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal apprehended apprehended 02 Bangladeshi Nationals namely Md Mufajal (30 yrs), S/O Md Tojamel Haque, Vill-Purba Bajitpur, PS-Phulbari, Distt-Dinajpur (Bangladesh) and Pakhi Akhtar (22 Yrs) W/O Md Majid, Vill-Bikrampur, PS-Tongibari, Distt-Munshiganj (Bangladesh) while they were on the way to Haldibari by E-Rickshaw. However, the driver of the E-Rickshaw was managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the E-Rickshaw.
During preliminary questioning, apprehended BD Nationals revealed that two other Bangladeshi Nationals are staying clandestinely at Hotel Chitra, Haldibari. Further, a Spl Ops was launched by troops of BOP Mahadev of 15 Battalion BSF and apprehended 02 more Bangladeshi Nationals namely Imam Hussain (28 Yrs) S/O Salam Howladar, Vill-Pokhia, PS-Galachipa, Distt-Patuakhali (Bangladesh) and Md Julhas (34 Yrs) S/O Md Milumal, Vill-Boro Kachna, PS-Gosairhat, Distt-Shariatpur (Bangladesh) from the hotel.
All apprehended BD Nationals including female had infiltrated into Indian Territory illegally for livelihood and were on their way towards different cities of India. Apprehended duo Bangladeshi Nationals with E-Rickshaw handed over to PS Kotwali while apprehended duo Bangladeshi Nationals from hotel handed over to PS Haldibari.
In the another incident, on 21 Nov 2022, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Bhimpur of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian National namely Gano Mahato, S/O Matilal Mahato, Vill-Purba kalikapur, PS-Hili, Distt-D/Dinajpur (West Bengal) and recovered 150 Yaba Tablets from his house as these yaba tablets was clandestinely hidden in the house for smuggling purpose from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Indian National with seized Yaba tablets handed over to PS Hili.
In addition to above, from 20 & 22 Nov 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 13 Cattle, 279 Bottles of Phensedyl, 350 Bottles of Phensegrip, 367 Bottles of Fair Dyl, 150 Nos of Yaba Tablets and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.5,96,184/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
