Troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of anti national elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF. On 06 July 2022, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Hilli-II of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian National namely Abdul Barik Mondal, S/O-Babul Mondal, R/O Vill-Haripokar, PS-Hili, Distt-D/Dinajpur (WB) with 10 Gold Biscuits which was concealed by the smuggler in the cavity of his bike. 


The seized consignment was handed over to the apprehended smuggler by his Bengladeshi smuggler friend. The apprehended smuggler was tasked to supply these Gold Biscuits to Indian Gold smugglers. The international market value of seized Gold is Rs. 61,76,673/-. The apprehended Indian national along with seized Gold was handed over to Custom Hili for further course of action.

                                  

In addition to above, in the intervening night of 06/07 July 2022 troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 10 Cattle, 146 Bottle Phensedyl, 01 Kg Ganja and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.3,68,221/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
