Apprehension of one Indian national and seizure of cattle phensedyl & other contraband items from Indo-Bangladesh broder area

Troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious designs of smuggling and infiltration & exfiltration.
On 29th June 2023 (Thursday) at about 1605 hrs, acting on a tip off, troops of BOP Chackgopal of 137 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in D/Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian National namely Amit Kumar Jain (38 Yrs) S/o Dharmendra Kumar Jain, R/O Vill-Dharanda, PO/PS-Hilli, Dstt-Dakshin Dinajpur (WB) while he was carrying contraband items from Fulbari to Hili in a Motor cycle to smuggle it to Bangladesh. BSF party laid stops where they were able to apprehend the person. During the search, BSF party recovered 100 bottles of Fairdyl, Syrup from his possession. Apprehended Indian National along with the seized items were handed over to PS Hili.
In addition to the above, from 28 to 29 June 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 05 Cattle, 746 bottles of Phensedyl group of cough syrup and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of the seized items is Rs.3,75,209/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle it from India to Bangladesh.
