Rescue of minor girl by BSF

Brave troops of Border Security Force are not only guarding India’s International borders but also creating a sense of security and providing humanitarian aids to border populace under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General, BSF North Bengal Frontier, Kadamtala.


 On 17 June 2023 at about 1400 hrs, the Changrabandha Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Border Security Force received an info that an unknown minor girl was lying unconscious in a deserted place near village Jaliatori More under PS Mekhliganj. Immediately, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit reached Jalliyatri More and saw that the minor girl was lying unconscious and was unable to answer any question. Seeing the serious condition of the minor girl, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit immediately informed Mekhliganj PS aniut the matter and with the help of police, the victim was evacuated to Mekhliganj Hospital. 



 The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit then contacted the victim's family to get detailed information about the victim. During the conversation, it was told by the family members of the victim that she was missing from her home since 9 am on 17 June 2023. The victim is currently admitted in Mekhliganj Hospital and is undergoing treatment under the supervision of police. According to treating doctor, she is still not able to give any statement. 


 The team is also in touch with the parents of the victim to find out the facts. The condition of the victim is improving gradually. After the safe recovery of the minor girl, the relatives expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Border Security Force Jalpaiguri. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of BSF is dedicated in helping the populace of the border areas in solving human trafficking cases and also conducts workshops and generates awareness of the ill effects of human trafficking and how to combat it.


Border Security Force always helps the needy border residing people in times of their emergent requirement for assistance and evacuation if required and other social matters. “Sentinels of Borders” are not only carrying out their duties on the Indo-Bangladesh border but also perform humanitarian role for the border populace as and when required.
