Apprehension of 1 Bangladeshi national and seizure of cattle phensedyl & other contraband items from Indo-Bangladesh broder area

Troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious designs of smuggling and infiltration & exfiltration.


On 20 June 2023 (Tuesday) at about 2230 hrs, acting on a tip off, troops of BOP Makarhat of 175 Battalion BSF under Kishanganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Bangladeshi National namely Majidur Rahaman S/o Abdul Malik, R/o Vill-Mahasangaon, PS- Haripur, Distt-Thakurgaon (Bangladesh). 99 bottles of Phensedyl and 01 Mobile were recovered from his possession while he was trying to smuggle it from Indian to Bangladesh. He was entered in India illegally to collect the Phensedyl for smuggling purpose. Apprehended Bangladeshi National with seized was handed over to PS Hemtabad. 


In addition to the above, from 19 to 21 June 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 33 Cattle, 348 bottles of Phensedyl group of cough syrup and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of the seized items is Rs.2,81,848/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle it from India to Bangladesh.
