Apprehension of 1 Bangladeshi national and seizure of cattle, phensedyl & other contraband items from Indo-Bangladesh border area
Troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious designs of smuggling and infiltration & exfiltration.
On 11 June 2023 (Sunday) at 1230 hrs, alert troops of BOP Balupara of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended one Bangladeshi National namely Aashit (14 Yrs) S/o Subpat Pramanik, Vill-Tilabadul, Distt-Joypurhat (Bangladesh) while he was trying to cross border from India to Bangladesh illegally and 01 Fake Aadhar Card was recovered from his possession. He revealed that he came in India 13 months ago through ICP Hili with proper valid documents for labour works in a Cup making factory at Bulandsahar (Uttar Pradesh). After spending 13 months in the factory, he wanted to go Bangladesh illegally to meet with his parents. Apprehended Bangladeshi National alongwith his fake Aadhar Card was handed over to PS Hili.
In addition to the above, from 11 & 12 June 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 05 Cattle, 142 bottles of Phensedyl group of cough syrup and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of the seized items is Rs.1,15,117/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle it from India to Bangladesh.
