On 01 Mar 2023 (Wednesday) at about 2030 hrs, some villagers as well as member of border village Tiwarigach under PS Phansidewa of Darjeeling district of West Bengal approached to the BSF BOP Vivekananda of 176 Battalion BSF under Siliguri Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border for the help of an emergency help of one border residing labor pain pregnant lady residing of border Vill-Tiwarigach, PS-Phansidewa, Distt-Darjeeling for evacuation to North Bengal Medical College & Hospital for delivery. Further, BSF provided an ambulance with Nursing Assistant and evacuated to North Bengal Medical College & Hospital for delivery on emergent basis. After that, admitted lady gave a birth of a baby (girl). Condition of the lady and the baby is normal. The family members of the lady and the villagers heartily appreciated the prompt action by the BSF.
BSF doing such exemplary jobs besides their routine border duty under the dynamic leadership of Sh Ajai Singh, Inspector General of BSF North Bengal Frontier. Besides promoting a sense of security among the border villagers, BSF always help the needy border villagers in time’s of their emergent requirement for needy border villagers.
