Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 22 Feb 2023 (Wednesday) at about 1230 hrs, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Oran of 06 Battalion BSF under Jalpaiguri Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Coochbehar district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian national namely Suja Roy (14 yrs), S/o Gour Roy, Vill-72 Nistraf, PS-Mekhliganj, Distt–Coochbehar (West Bengal) while he was clandestinely carrying 210 Kg of Paddy and 150 Kg of Surgar in his E-Rickshaw for dumping in border area and further smuggling to Bangladesh as he revealed. Apprehended Indian National with seized items was handed over to PS Mekhliganj.
In addition to above, on 20 to 23 Feb 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 06 Cattle, 754 bottles of Phensedyl group of syrup and other contraband items from different border area. The total value of seized items is Rs.3,23,354/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
