Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.


On 13 Feb 2023, troops of BOP Amar of 06 Battalion BSF under Jalpaiguri Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in Coochbehar district of West Bengal rescued 01 Bangladeshi National from the clutch of border villagers of border village Fulkadabari while villagers were beating to the Bangladeshi National as he was trying to cross border illegally from India to Bangladesh. He revealed his identity as Kiron Mondal (43 yrs), S/o Noran Mondal, Vill-Subhria, PS-Nawabganj, Distt-Dhaka (Bangladesh) and also revealed that he wants to bring his family from Bangladesh to India for livelihood. Bangladeshi Taka 537, Indian Currency Rs.4,040/- and 01 Mobile was recovered from his possession. Apprehended Bangladeshi National with seized items was handed over to PS Kuchlibari. 



In addition to above, on 13 and 14 Feb 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 05 Cattle, 50 bottles of Fairdyl, 25 bottles of Phensedyl, 537 Bangladeshi Taka, Rs.4,040/- Indian Currency and other contraband items from different border area. The total value of seized items is Rs.72,123/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
