Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 11 Nov 2022, alert troops of BOP Hili-II of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 02 Bangladeshi smugglers namely Md Alam Hossain (30 Yrs) S/O Late Md Sapun Hossain, Vill-Bangla Hilli, PS-Hakimpur, Distt-Dinajpur (Bangladesh) and Moshiur Rahman (24 Yrs) S/O Md Moffizuddin, Vill-Navdapara, PS-Hakimpur, Distt-Dinajpur (Bangladesh) alongwtih 330 Bottles of Fairdyl, 700 BD Taka and 02 Nos Mobile. Apprehended duo with seized items were handed over to PS Hili.
A total 202 Bangladeshi Nationals including 52 Bangladeshi smugglers were apprehended by BSF troops from the Area of Responsibility of North Bengal Frontier from 01 Jan 2022 to 12 Nov 2022 in which a total of 67 Bangladeshi Nationals were apprehended under Raiganj Sector.
In addition to above, from 11 & 12 Nov 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 02 Cattle, 330 Bottles of Fairdyl, 700 BD Taka and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.72,572/- Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
