Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 24 Nov 2022, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Atila of 164 Battalion of BSF under Raiganj Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian National Rabani Mondal (50 yrs) S/O Late Jabbar Mandal, Vill-Tarod (Khirpukur), PS-Tapan, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur (West Bengal) while he was moving suspiciously and illegally carrying 25 Btls of Phensedyl, 25 Btls of M K Dyl, 02 Nos Iron Dao alongwith 02 Cattle for the purpose of smuggling from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Indian National with seized items was handed over to PS Tapan.
In addition to above, from 24 & 25 Nov 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 05 Cattle, 55 Bottles of Phensedyl, 50 Bottles of Fairdyl, 25 Bottles of M K Dyl and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.1,64,017/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
