On 18 Nov 2022, alert troops of BOP Srirampur of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 02 Indian Nationals namely Sanjay mahato (21 Yrs) S/O Suresh Chandra Mahato, Vill-Srikrishnapur, PS-Hilli, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur (West Bengal) and Arun Mahato (34 Yrs) S/O Late Ganesh Mahato, Vill-Srikrishnapur, PS-Hilli, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur (West Bengal) while duo were carrying liquor clandestinely in their Motorcycle for smuggling from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended duo with seized items were handed over to PS Hili. 


 In another case, on 18 Nov 2022, alert troops of BOP North Agra of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended apprehended 01 BD National namely Karthik Chandra Barman (55 Yrs) S/O Late Sashi Lal Chandra Barman, Vill-Amonto, PS-Patnitola, Distt-Naogaon (BD) while he was trying to cross border illegally from Bangladesh to India. Apprehended BD National was handed over to PS Hili. 


 In addition to above, from 16 & 19 Nov 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 35 Cattle, 408 Bottles of Phensedyl and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.9,13,077/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.


Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
