The rebel MLAs of Shiv Sena got a big relief from the Supreme Court today. The top court told the Deputy Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly that a decision on the disqualification of the MLAs should not be taken till July 11. Along with this, the court sought answers on the petitions of the rebel MLAs challenging the legality of the disqualification notice.


After this, Eknath Shinde, who is leading the rebel party of Shiv Sena, tweeted that this is the victory of Hindu Hriday Samrat Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray's ideas of Hindutva and Dharmaveer Anand Dighe.


During the hearing, a vacation bench of Justices Surya Kant and J B Pardiwala also directed the Maharashtra government to protect the life, liberty and property of 39 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and their families. All these MLAs are currently staying in a hotel in Guwahati.


Let us inform that the Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly had issued disqualification notices to 16 MLAs including Eknath Shinde. The Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray had demanded action against these MLAs. After this, Eknath Shinde and his faction MLA Bharat Gogawale had filed two separate petitions in the Supreme Court. The Deputy Speaker had given time till this evening to respond to the notice to the rebel MLAs.
