Troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of anti national elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF. 


On 19 June 2022, acting on the tip off, the troops of BOP Balupara of 61 Bn BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian national female R/O Vill-Basudevpur (Dakshinpara), PS-Hili, Distt-D/Dinajpur (WB) while she was trying to smuggle contraband items to India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Indian national was handed over to PS Hili.


In the another incident, on 19 June 2022, alert troops of BOP Banesqarjote of 176 Bn BSF apprehended 01 Bangladeshi national namely Md Abdul Rahim, S/O Siragol Islam, Vill-Habibpara, PS-Bagichare, Distt-Rangamati, (Bangladesh) while they were illegally trying to cross International boundary from Bangladesh to India. Apprehended Bangladeshi national was handed over to Police Station Phansidewa.


Besides above, from 19 to 20 June 2022 troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 51 Cattle, 476 Bottle Phensedyl and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.4,93,403/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
