Troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of anti national elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling, infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 15 June 2022, alert troops of BOP Chakgopal of 137 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 03 Indian nationals namely Md Ziyaul Haque (30 Yrs) along with his wife and his son, all are R/O Begusarai district of Bihar while they were trying to cross International Boundary illegally from Bangladesh to India. Apprehended persons were handed over to PS Hili.
Besides above, on 16 June 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 41 Cattle, 314 Bottles Phensedyl and other contraband items from different border areas.
The total value of seized items is Rs.5,23,098/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
