Today (16/12/21) at about 1600 hrs acting on specific intel, officers and men of SOG SPC and NJP PS (with lady police personnel) detained three suspects at Kamrangaguri over bridge.
The identity of the three suspects are
1. Saniur Seikh (28) of Kaliachak, Dist. - Malda
2. Ayesha Begam (38) of Islampur, Dist. Uttar Dinajpur and
3. Menoka Khatun (21yrs) of Biswas Coløny, Matigara Rail Gate, PS Matigara, District Darjeeling.
On search of their person, after observing proper formalities of the NDPS Act, in presence of an Executive Magistrate 700 grams of Brown Sugar valued at Rs 01 Crore 40 Lakhs (approx) was recovered from their joint possession which has been seized under proper seizure memo.
All the three accused persons have been arrested and taken into custody.
They are active members of a Drug Cartel involved in illegal supply and sale of contraband drugs to the users in and around Siliguri.
A case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act is being initiated at NJP PS.
