Two good captures of Black Panther from Buxa tiger reserve. Both are camera trap pictures and got captured during this year only. In Buxa assessment of biodiversity is a continuous phenomenon. For this various camera traps are fitted at various places from time to time.
One such camera trap from this year produced these rare and beautiful pictures. Black panther has been captured earlier also from Buxa. Black panther is a common leopard (Panthera pardus) only which is melanistic in nature. But due to their black colour they are rare and difficult to observe in forest. For the safety of animal we are not sharing the exact location but it has been captured in Core part of Buxa Tiger Reserve. It is an adult male.
Such observations give us an idea how rich and diverse life form is present in forest of Buxa Tiger Reserve.
