On dated 17th October 2021 under South Bengal Frontier, *Anti Human Trafficking Unit* of 08 BN BSF Border Out Post Ramnagar got activated at that time when they got the information regarding probable human trafficking attempt in the area of Border Out Post Ramnagar.
Immediately BSF troops and Anti Human Trafficking Team sealed the International Boundary. Search operation was launched along the border. But when searching of the banana orchards ahead of the fence was started then three Bangladeshi nationals who were hidden inside the banana orchard started running towards the Bangladesh side. During chased, BSF got succeeded in apprehending one Bangladeshi woman. Apprehended Bangladeshi woman revealed her identity as Shilpi Begum wife of Jasim Halder, age – 27 yrs, Vill – Nanadpara, PO – Boalia, PS- Bakerganj, Distt – Barisal, Bangladesh.
During questioning Shipi Begum stated that she got married with Jasim 10 years ago after getting divorce from Jasim she again got married with a (Bangladeshi national) namely Kosher.
Shilpi Begum further stated that she was working in Sirajganj Fashion Garment shop in Dhaka where she met with a woman namely Reepa Begum who is presently residing in Bangalore with her husband after coming illegally in the India. Reepa made necessary arrangement for Kosher and Shilpi to come in the India and for this work Reepa Begum paid money to a Bangladeshi tout namely Kosher.
Subsequently, after detailed questioning of Shilpi Begum by Anti Human Traffiking Unit, it came into the notice that Reepa Begum is operating a human trafficking racket from Bengluru. By trapping innocent girls, she invite the girls to Bengluru with the help of Kosher and then push them into prostitution. Kosher is the elder brother of Reepa’s husband and resides in the Bangladesh.
PR officer BSF says that BSF is taking strict steps to curb the human trafficking on Indo – Bangladesh border. Every attempt of human trafficking will be foiled on the International Border.
