Workers who regularly look after sea turtles in a South Carolina state park have seen an unusual thing. A tortoise with two heads.

South Carolina State Park posted a post on Facebook. The post said, "After signs of a large emergence of sea turtle nests, we dig to determine the success of comparative egg count nests, and also find live turtles in a variety of ways."

The team thus found three live turtle cubs at the bottom of the sea nest, one of which had two faces in particular.

The post says that such deformities in baby turtles are caused by genetic mutations. All three turtle cubs were reportedly released into the sea.

"Two-headed turtles have been found in other beaches and parks in South Carolina in recent years, but this is the first search for a patrol team at Edisto Beach State Park." South Carolina State Parks reported.
