police lathi-charge the people after protesting over the irregularities of Covid-19 vaccination in Ashoknagar, district of North 24 Parganas in Thursday noon.
On Thursday morning people were assembled at a vaccination center in Ashoknagar primary health centre in the city's 4 number area.
It has known they all had registered their name via CoWIN apps to receive the doses. But after reaching the center they came to know they would not be given vaccine.
The center authority says they called 200 people for the second doses today, rest of the people wouldn't get and which makes the other people angry. Then the angry people showed anger with this decision, they chanted slogan, shouting.
Later Ashoknagar police reached immediately and tried to control over the situation.
At a time, demanding their respective doses, they blocked Ashoknagar-Naihati road, by which the traffic movement was disrupted.
The police then reached there and tried to lift the blockade but the protesters were strict to their demand.
Later the police had to resort lathicharge to disperse the mob mercilessly. Many of them were injured and were taken to the hospital.
Incidentally, for the last couple of days, many people had been waiting in several vaccination centre for their doses but failed after waiting hours after hours. Sometimes the local MLA also had to face agitation and tried to resolve the problem, Despite the condition remain unchanged.
