Bengal ruling party Trinamool Congress on Thursday question the silence of the Union government on attacks on the Hindu population in Bangladesh.

TMC MP Sougata Roy says "Indian PM Narendra Modi should threat to his Bangladesh counterpart Seikh Hasina to stop killing Hindus in the neighbouring country."

Roy, a senior party leader made this comment in Khardah, district of North 24 Parganas this evening while he was campaigning in support of his party candidate Sovandeb Chatterjee in Khardah by-poll on October 30 this month.

After Roy, TMC Youth President Sayani Ghosh hits out the saffron party and the state opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari on the same issue in the Muslim majority country.

Ghosh, who was also campaigning in Khardah in support of Sovandeb Chatterjee, says "We are very much worried on the violence in Bangladesh recently. Our heart cried for this, our higher authority also expressed anger with this. We want justice and remedy. However our opposition leader (Suvendu Adhikari) said after the incident that this incident will make their votes increase three times. This is their character. Actually they think the people as voters, they think the lives of the voters as votebank, while we, the Trinamool Congress activists think all the people are human being either he is Hindu from Bangladesh or Muslims from Afghanistan.
