Mirabai Chanu had to face the biggest challenge before going to the Olympics. One day before winning the medal, Chanu suddenly started menstruating. Mirabai won the silver medal in that pain. He told it to himself back in the country.

Chanu said, 'I was very worried. I didn't understand anything. That was the day I won my medal. At that time the body starts working differently. The normal rhythm is lost. I started thinking about it. But I was steadfast in my goal. This can happen in the middle of the game. I am used to that. '

Returning home after winning a silver medal in the Olympics, the Manipur government appointed Chanu as Additional Superintendent of Police. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh told media that the state government has decided to appoint Chanu as Additional Superintendent of Police (Sports). He will also be given a prize of one crore rupees.

This time Mirabai Chanu is the first Indian to win a medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He was the only domestic representative in weightlifting. Manipur Weightlifter has won a gold medal in the 48 kg category at the 2018 World Championships.

He won a bronze medal at the Asian Championships last year. Earlier, Mirabai had won silver at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and gold at the 2016 Commonwealth Games.
