 Deputy Commissioner of Police Namrata Patil said a man named Jaj Yogesh had cheated with several women and their relatives by posing as a fake army officer. Yogesh Gaikwad was arrested on the 21st of last month by the police on the complaint of a 22-year-old woman, a resident of Vivevwadi in Pune.


According to the Times of India, the complainant said, "My mother was ill in January last year and used to visit a hospital in Bibiowadi frequently to see her. He came there, his ID card was on the street at the time, which I picked up, and this was the first time we had a conversation.


The woman said, ‘A few days after meeting at the bus stop, Yogesh sent me a friend request and then our conversation started. One day he proposed to me and then we got married in Allende, but he never took me to his house. "She took Rs 2 lakh in the name of giving my brother a job in the army," she said. Similarly, he also took money from 10 to 15 friends of my brother.


Senior Inspector Sunil Jawar said, “Investigation has revealed four marriages of Yogesh Gaikwad. Among them are two women in Pune city, one in Amravati and one in Aurangabad. Yogesh had two marriages at Alandi's Dharamsala and two more marriages at the temple, but none of the marriages were legally registered. "Our preliminary investigation has revealed that Yogesh had an affair with 53 women," she said.


SP Sunil Javre said, “Whenever Yogesh met women, he would wear an army uniform and call himself Colonel Ram or Major Ram. He also claimed that he was posted in Jammu and Kashmir. Twelve army uniforms, 26 new shoes, two motorcycles, two four-wheelers, a trunk, cell phones, rubber stamps and other valuables were recovered from him. He said that the police had been looking for Yogesh since 2016.


According to police, Yogesh made rubber stamps and letterheads of the Indian Army and used to deceive youths with fake letters of joining the army. So far, he has prepared about 22 fake joining letters and swindled millions of rupees.
