Silk sarees are also of different types. Benarsi, Kanjivaram, Baluchari, Bhagalpuri, Murshidabadi, Tasar, Bishnupuri, Paithani, Bomkai and many more.


However, to keep a good silk sari, it needs to be properly preserved and cared for. You don't just have to wash and fold it like a cotton or woven sari. Learn how to take care of silk sari in the right way-


Do not hang silk sari in the cupboard. Wrap in a cotton cloth or muslin cloth then place it in the cupboard.




Never wrap two saris together in one cloth. There is a high risk of spoiling the sari.


Silk sarees with lace work; Fold them upside down. This will not spoil the lace.


Never keep silk saris next to other saris like chiffon or georgette or polyester in the cupboard.


 Match the silk sari shades every six months. This will change the fold. If not, the folded saris can be cut.



Many people use plastic boxes to store sari. However, this rule does not apply to silk sarees.


Silk sari washing technique in the right way-


 Never try silk sari at home. It is very good if you can dry wash the silk sari.


If you have to make silk sari by glass, then wash it by hand instead of washing machine. First, mix a little shampoo or liquid detergent in cold water, soak the silk sari for 5 minutes and wash it.


After washing, let the water drip. Do not dry the silk sari tightly. Let these saris dry in the shade. If dried in the sun, the color may be lost.
