The Meteorological Office has declared that there will be heavy rain across the state till Sunday 20th December 2021, due to low pressure and cyclone and this depression extends from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar, but there will be cyclone over West Bengal and Bangladesh. Due to both of the reasons the sky will remain cloudy on Saturday and Sunday respectively. There may be light to moderate rain throughout the day, and sometimes heavy to very heavy rain.
The weather forcasting team has also added in their statement “The people of the state has to face this rain till Sunday and they will not get any escape from this rain as of now. ”It is expected that Jalpaiguri, Kuchbihar, Malda, Dui Dinajpur, Murshidabad, Nadia, Dui 24 Pargana, Purulia, Bankura, Paschim Bardhaman and Birbhum will face heavy rainfall in these days.
Many rivers and reservoirs may overflow due to rise in their water level during this heavy and continuous rainfall, which can cause flood in several districts of the state. It is advised to the fishermen to not go to the seas on Saturdays and Sundays. Some of places in Kolkata is still suffering from water accumulation which is causing disturbance in the normal lifestyle of the people staying in those areas. “The situation can get worse if it continues to rain” added the team.
