Make delicious tomato rice recipes at home

 1 cup basmati rice

 2 medium onions

 2 tablespoons sambar powder

 1 handful of coriander leaves

 2 tablespoons oil

 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste

 4 large tomatoes

 3 raw chillies

 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

 Salt as needed

 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste

 2 pinches of dried chilli powder

 1/2 teaspoon mustard

 7 Curry leaves

 1 pinch hing

 2 dried chillies


Wash and filter basmati rice and soak for about 20 minutes. Take a deep pan. Put it on medium heat and add water to it. When it boils, add soaked rice in it. Cover the pan with a lid and cook over medium heat until the rice is soft. Now lower it and set it aside.Now put the chopped tomatoes in a blender and blend well. Take out the puree in a bowl and set it aside. Now heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and add mustard, asafoetida, curry leaves and dried chilli. Add onions and fry until light pink.Then add raw chilli and ginger-garlic paste. Fry these ingredients for one minute.

 Now add tomato puree, turmeric powder, dried chilli powder, sambar powder and salt as required. Cook until the oil separates. Add the cooked rice to the tomato gravy and mix well. Then place the tomato rice in a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with potato chips or raita.
