After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation, PM Garib Kalyan Yojana has been extended till the end of November, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that free ration will be given to poor in her state by June 2021.

 Shortly after the Prime Minister's address, Mamta Banerjee said, 'Bengal will give free ration till June 2021.  He also said that the quality of the state's ration is better than that of the center and in Bengal only 60 percent of the country's ration reaches.


Addressing the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the extension of the Garib Kalyan Yojana by the end of November.  He said that now 80 crore people will get free food grains till Diwali and Chhath.  90,000 crore rupees will be spent on this.

 PM Modi said in his address, 'We have more work during the rainy season and thereafter mainly in the agriculture sector.  There is some slowness in other sectors.  Gradually, the atmosphere of festivals also starts to form from July.  This time of festivals, also increases the needs, also increases the expenditure.  Keeping all these things in mind, it has been decided that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana should now be extended till Diwali and Chhath Puja, that is, by the end of November.
