Corona in the country continues to wreak havoc.  Many states have also decided to increase the lockdown.  In this episode, the K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) government of Telangana may take a decision to increase the lockdown in Hyderabad.  Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said on Sunday that medical experts have recommended to increase the lockdown.  According to the Health Ministry, there are 13 thousand 436 cases of coronavirus in Telangana and so far 243 people have lost their lives.

The state's Special Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) said that the death rate in Telangana is exactly half of the national average.  He said that the national average death due to corona is 3.04 and in Telangana it is 1.52.  Chief Minister KCR said that medical and health experts want a 15-day lockdown in the GHNC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) border to be reimposed.

The Chief Minister further said that, 'We will investigate the situation closely for the next two to three days.  If needed, the cabinet will be called to discuss proposals for lockdown, options and other related issues and a decision will be taken.

The announcement is made after a high-level review meeting on Sunday on the treatments available to COVID-19 patients, future strategies to be implemented and other related issues.  Medical and Health Minister Etela Rajender, Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao and doctors attended the meeting.
