The Mumbai Police on Sunday requested residents of the city not to go beyond the radius of two kilometers from their homes to exercise or to visit shops and salons to prevent the spread of the corona virus.  A senior police officer said that it is permissible to go beyond the radius of two kilometers only to go to office or to get treatment in emergency.  Going outside the radius of two kilometers from our homes for shopping is strictly prohibited.  The Mumbai Police appealed to the residents to follow the rules of personal safety and social distance.  Failure to do so will take strict action against the culprits.

The official said that the residents should ensure that they leave the house only for necessary services.  He said, 'It is compulsory to apply face masks while exiting and if people are going to markets, salons, barber shops, then it should be within two kilometers of their residence.'  He said that for the purpose of exercise, it is permissible to go to an open place within a radius of two kilometers outside the house.  The official said that many activities have been approved under the 'Mission Begin Again' of the Government of Maharashtra, but the threat of corona virus still remains.

He said, 'It is absolutely necessary that we follow the rules of personal safety and social distance.  Many people in the city have been found violating these rules and by doing so they are endangering the health of others as well as others.  Police has appealed to all citizens to strictly follow the lockdown guidelines issued by the state government.  The official said that rules of social distance should be followed at all times and strict action will be taken against those who violate them.

He told that shops and markets which do not follow the guidelines of social distance will be closed.  The senior police officer said that during the night curfew from 9 am to 5 am, the movement of people will be banned and they will be allowed to travel only for essential services.  He told that vehicles found running on the roads in their local areas without any valid reason will be confiscated.
