The storm surge is expected to uproot trees, electric poles , mud and brick houses. Electricity and internet supplies are disrupted in Bali 2 area of  Goshaba Block in Sunderbans. State Electricity Board Employees are engaged to lower possible disruptions in power supply but the gale winds have it a challenging task.

“We are trying hard to keep up supplies. The gusty wind has uprooted trees and poles making it extremely difficult for us to work,” said Jayanta Mandal , West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) employee.

Another State Electricity Board field worker, Tanmay Jana said, “ Field workers are trying to keep electricity supply intact so they can avail updates of the storm and take necessary measures.”
