Coronavirus cases in the country are increasing day by day.  In view of this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a lockdown in the country for three weeks from Tuesday to prevent the spread of this deadly virus.  The number of coronavirus-infected patients has so far reached 649.  At the same time, 13 people have died of this disease.  This virus has claimed the maximum lives of three people in Maharashtra.  After this, two people died in Gujarat.  According to Health Ministry data, 43 new cases have been reported on Thursday.  However, it is a matter of relief that 43 people have been cured of this disease so far.

While addressing the nation on Tuesday, PM Modi said, "Forget leaving your house for the next 21 days."  Health experts cautioned that the infection could spread on a much larger scale if strict steps are not taken now.

Meanwhile, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adenom Gabriesses has warned the countries that have lockeddown on Wednesday.  He said that many countries are under lockdown to combat coronavirus (COVID-19) but these measures alone will not be enough to eradicate coronavirus.  The WHO chief said, "The best and fastest way is to search, isolate, test and treat corona infected people."

Coronavirus has spread to more than 180 countries and has killed more than 20 thousand people so far.  In China and Italy alone, the death toll has crossed 10,000.  Four and a half million people are infected by it.  There are situations like emergency in countries around the world.  Many countries have taken the path of lockdown to prevent this and more than three billion people are forced to remain in lockdown.
