In an unprecedented development in West Bengal on Tuesday, Speaker Biman Banerjee adjourned the house for two days as the bills introduced in the assembly have not got the approval of Governor Jagdeep Dhankar.  Banerjee said in the assembly that the house would be adjourned till December 5.  The proceedings of the House will resume on December 6 at 11 am.

Banerjee said, "The house will be adjourned for two days."  The bills which were to be introduced will not be introduced because they have not got the approval of the Governor. "We have sent those Bills for printing but cannot present them in the Legislative Assembly because they have not been agreed upon."

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar has had a confrontation with the Trinamool Congress government over several issues.  Last week, he targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for "insulting" her on "every occasion" and not regularly informing her.  Dhankar also targeted Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee for "violating the protocol".
