The government has invited nominations for the National Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award-2020.  The award is given to companies making a positive impact through CSR activities. 

Under the Companies Act, 2013, companies making a certain category of profits are required to spend at least two percent of their three-year average net profit on CSR.

  As per information put on the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the National CSR Award is given to companies that have positively impacted business and society through their CSR activities.  Apart from this, the award also recognizes adoption of apps and technology for adopting innovative approach and implementation of better CSR program.


 A total of 20 CSR awards are presented in three categories for CSR spending, projects in backward or difficult areas and projects in areas of national priority.
