The Supreme Court on Saturday has given the decision to give 2.77 acres of disputed land right to the trust for the construction of the temple.  The Supreme Court gave this order citing article 142 in the judgment.  Along with this, the Supreme Court has directed the government that under the provisions, Nirmohi Arena should also be included in it.  Under the same Article conferred powers, the Supreme Court has said in its directive that Muslims will be given 5 acres of land for the construction of the mosque.  The trust has been directed to be formed in the next 3 months.

 Supreme court gets the right for special circumstances
 142 (1): The Supreme Court reserves the right to give specific instructions to a particular party under special circumstances for complete justice in the case before it.  This decision of the Supreme Court will be effective only in a particular place under the Indian territory.  The Supreme Court can use Article 142 in special circumstances on issues affecting public sentiment.  Under this, the order of the Supreme Court will also be considered paramount until another law is enacted.

 Sunni Waqf Board counsel Zafaryab Jilani said, "As far as I understand, under Article 142, the court is not empowered to violate one's personal jurisdiction."  However, the committee welcomes and accepts the Supreme Court's decision without any objection.

 Article 142 has been used in many important cases
 Even before the verdict on the Ayodhya dispute, the Supreme Court has used Article 142 in several important cases.  Earlier, in the case of JP Builders and Home Buyers, the Supreme Court ruled on the basis of article 142.  Article 142 was also used by the Supreme Court in the Bhopal Gas Tragedy case.
