Mandhana, who was ruled out of the first two matches of the series due to a toe injury, played an innings of 74 runs (9 fours, 3 sixes) in 63 balls. He destroyed the Caribbean invasion by sharing 141 runs with fellow opener Rodrigues (69 off 92 balls).

Earlier, the Indian team, with their precise bowling, bundled the visiting team for 194 runs in 50 overs. After winning the toss and batting first, the Caribbean team was given 2–2 blows by experienced Jhulan Goswami (2/30) and leg-spinner Poonam Yadav (2/35).
