Shweta Tiwari-Varun Badola's upcoming serial Mere Dad Ki Dulhan is going to start next week. But even before it was on-air, the show got stuck in controversy. A case has been registered against the producers of the show in Bombay High Court.

According to the Bombay Times report, Bollywood actress and producer of Punjabi films Preeti Sapru has filed a case against the producers of the serial, Tony and Dia Singh. He has alleged that his film 'Teri Meri Gal Ban Gaye' revolves around the father-daughter relationship. In the film, the daughter gets her father's second marriage.

Preeti's lawyer Abhijeet Desai said, 'My client has registered the script of the film with IMPPA (Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association) and The Screenwriters in 2017. When we raised this issue before the IMPPA before registering the case, the producers of the show did not come for any clarification. So we went to court for copyright infringement. We expect some good news before the release of the show.
