West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh raised questions about the silence of the Trinamool Congress over the Ayodhya verdict and said that the state's ruling party always kept silence whenever it came to take a stand on national and social interest issues.

Describing the Supreme Court's verdict on the disputed land in Ayodhya as 'historic', Ghosh said that the BJP and saffron camp carried on the Ram Janmabhoomi movement for a long time and that "if the temple is built, there will definitely be political gains."  When asked whether the BJP would get any political benefit from the issue, Ghosh said that the saffron camp had been running the movement for a long time but it was not for any political gain.  But if there is any such benefit, we will definitely benefit from it.  Asked about the silence of the Trinamool Congress leadership over the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute, he said that he challenged them to take a stand on it.

Ghosh said, "Whenever there is an issue related to national security, the Trinamool Congress leadership either maintains silence or takes a stand that is against the interests of the nation and society."  The same has happened this time.  I would ask them to clarify whether they support or oppose the decision.  I am confident that they will not answer my question.
