Moitrish Majumdar, Kolkata:

When Chris Gayle is in full color, it is difficult to stop. This 39-year-old Caribbean lad is currently batting in a global T20 league being played in Canada. On Friday at the Brampton ground in Canada, Gayle played 94 runs in just 44 balls against the Edmonton Royals, playing for the Vancouver Knights.

Chris Gayle smashed 32 runs with the help of four sixes and two fours in one over from Edmonton Royals Pakistani bowler Shadab Khan. Shadab Khan came in to bowl 13th over of the innings. What was it then, Gayle made two consecutive fours after hitting the first two balls of this 20-year-old leg-spinner and then hit two sixes again on the remaining two balls.

By the time Shadab's over ended, Gayle's team needed only 27 runs off 42 balls. Although Gayle could not do anything further, he scored 94 runs off 44 balls and was dismissed by the ball of Ben Cutting. In his innings, he hit six fours and nine sixes.

Batting first, the Royals team scored 165 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. In response, with the help of Gayle's quick innings, the Knights won the match for 166 runs for four wickets in 16.3 overs.
