A girl student of a college in south Kolkata has been allegedly jeered by some Trinamool Chatra Parishad (TMCP) members on International Women's Day for wearing a "revealing dress" to college.

The student, who wanted her identity hidden , alleged that she was threatened by two members of the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) for wearing the "revealing dress which is against the discipline of the college."

The incident happened on the eve of International Women's Day on Friday .

She was pushed by the two union members, when she protested against their filthy comments , the student alleged.

Barun Majhi, her friend alleged that he was beaten up by the TMCP members when tried to take stand against them.
The TMCP said nothing of that sort had taken place.

A college spokesperson said no formal complaint had been lodged by the girl and denied application of dresscode.

He said if the student lodges a complaint with the college authorities, necessary action will be taken after an inquiry.
