Moitrish Majumdar, Kolkata:
Lucy Mary Athieno, a citizen of Uganda gave an incredible relief to her people, all the sisters and mothers and daughters by making a kind of sanitary pad that is reusable.

She started this mission of eco pads in 2009 and presently this initiative has helped half a million girls accross the country.  According to stats 34% of the population is below poverty level and lives with about 2 dollars a day. This brought severe complications for the female group of the family to get proper health care.

According to her words, two thirds of the school girls cant afford buying sanitary pads, so they use other unhealthy options like using rags, sponges and even sometimes they sit on sand which results in severe infections.

This revolutionary change in the making if the pads has saved alot of lives by now.
