The Indian Foreign Ministry has denied the talks with the Pakistan on the Kartarpur corridor, in relation to improvements in relations.

 The Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that discussion on Kartarpur corridor is a matter related to the sentiments of Sikh community and it is not the beginning of formal talks between the two countries.

Earlier, the government had said that the construction of the corridor with Pakistan will be discussed on the Atari-Wagah border on March 14. This will be in the Indian part of the meeting boundary.

Asked whether this is the right time to talk to Pakistan? Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravish Kumar said that there is a need to understand the purpose of talks about Kartarpur. It can not be called the beginning of formal dialogue between the two countries.

Kumar said, 'This is a matter related to the faith and feelings of the Sikh community. Our decision of the meeting indicates that we are determined to build the corridor on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. It has been a long demand from the Sikh community that easy access to Kartarpur Sahib Guru.
