Acting Mayor of Kolkata Firhad Hakim in a press meet after the declaration General Election dates took a dig at Center.

He began his address pointing at the holding of elections during the month of Ramzan , potentially to 'stop Muslim voters to cast votes'.

He said , "Today 7 part elections in Bihar, UP and Bengal means election during Ramzan so that the minority can’t cast their vote. "

Accusing BJP of riot mongering and political murders in West Bengal he said, "
You all have been provided with false police reports. There is law and order in Bengal. 2000 people didn’t die in Bengal due to riots. All the people that have been murdered are Trinamool Congress workers. People were hired from outside and murdered here. If law and order is disrupted in Bengal it is because of BJP and CPIM."

Quietly confidently he concluded stating , 'no matter what Mamata Banerjee cannot be removed from the heart of the people of Bengal .'
