Bird hit crashes MiG-21 of IAF near Bikaner in Rajasthan , pilot safe .

An Indian Air Force MiG 21 crashed in Bilaner city of Rajasthan earlier in the day after a presumed bird hit.

The pilot of the fighter jet left the fighter well in time and is safe , the Indian Air Force said.

They further added that initial inputs suggest that the jet crashed due to a bird hit.

Sources reveal , Bikaner's superintendent of police, Pradeep Mohan Sharma, told news agency PTI that the area where the MiG-21 fighter crashed is in Shobhasar ki Dhani, 12 km outside of Bikaner city.

Indian Air Force officials informed the MiG-21 had taken from the Indian Air Force's Nal airbase in Rajasthan and that it was on a routine mission.
