Former state Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was enraged over the statement of Union Minister Jitendra Singh's Kashmiri politicians. The leader of the National Conference mocked the Modi government minister and called the PM a 'Pakistani' and said that Jitendra Singh may have become a minister but he can not tell what he has done till now. Singh had said that when Kashmiri leaders are in power, they complain about terror activities with the central government and after coming out of power, they start sympathy with Pakistan.
Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, "How times change. Centre’s top priority is seemingly renaming historic cities & building Ram Mandir. On the other hand , heartening  to see that Pak PM has initiated steps to name Baloki forest reserve after Guru Nanak ji & create a university under his name."
On Sunday, Mehbooba Mufti had praised Imran Khan for targeting the central government.
Singh also said in his statement that this is not just a matter of PDP, the National Conference does the same. He said, "This is not limited to any PDP, the National Conference has shown similar character. When Farooq Abdullah was CM, he used to question the demolition of a bomb on a terror camp in POK. Today we also know that if we are out of power, then what do we speak?"
