Sydney : The weather in Sydney may have shattered India's victory but Virat Kohli and Company could not stop making history in Australia. On the fifth day of the Sydney Test on Monday, when the umpires took the decision of the stumps due to rain, then India took possession of the series with a 2-1 series on four Tests. The Indian team that had been touring Australia continuously since 1947 did not win any series here. But in the captaincy of Kohli, the Indian team made history.
India made 622 runs in 7 wickets with the help of centuries of Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant in their first innings. After this, thanks to Kuldeep Yadav's five wickets, India put Australia on top of 300 in their first innings. India followed suit with 322 runs ahead. But the weather's eye-michauli gave some relief to Australia. This was India's 12th visit here.
Due to the rains in Sydney, two sessions of the fourth day of the match and the last day were completely filled with rain. After that the result of the series was India's name from 2-1. The series started in Adelaide on 6 December. Team India defeated the hosts by 31 runs. The second Test of the series was played in Perth, where the Kangaroo team returned to the series with a score of 1-1. India lost by 146 runs in the Perth Test.
