Maharashtra Government to raise salaries of state employees as per 7th Pay Commission

The Maharashtra government has accepted the recommendation to increase the salary of the state employees. Finance Minister Deepak Kesarkar told Friday (November 30, 2018) that the Government has decided to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission from January, 2019.

Kesarkar said this in response to a question raised by Kapil Patel in the Legislative Council. This decision of the government will benefit about 17 lakh government employees and 6.5 retired personnel in the state. In the new year, they will get the gift of incremental salary.

According to a report, if the new recommendations are implemented, the state government's treasury will have an additional burden of Rs 23,000 crore. At the same time, Kejarkar said in the upper house of the state assembly, a committee has been formed under the leadership of the former Additional Chief Secretary to resolve the matter.

The recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented from January 1. A CR issue will be soon issued on the decision.
