Flights from Ranchi to three cities launched under 'Connecting Air India' scheme.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das launched the Alliance Air India's three airlines under the 'Connecting Air India' scheme from Birsa Munda Airport on Friday. Under this, air services have been started from Ranchi to Raipur, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar.

On the first flight of Ranchi to Raipur, forty passengers flew on Friday. On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said that from Ranchu three new cities have joined the airline connection, which is a big achievement for Jharkhand. He said that the fare of these flights is almost equal to the rent of the train.

Sinha told that the rent of Raipur and Kolkata is only Rs 1,999. While Bhubaneswar's fare is Rs 1,666. He said that compared to the number of six lakh passengers in 2014, during the four year tenure of the Modi government, the total number of passengers has reached nearly 27 lakh. In the year 2018, the number of airlines has increased to 27 compared to 11 airports in the year 2014.
